  I just moved from Sunnyvale to scenic Eugene, Oregon. I don't miss the traffic. I don't miss the surly, aggressive attitude of all the upwardly mobile overachievers. I sure don't miss the outrageously high cost of living. But I will miss having my hair cut by Bob at Century Barber Shop.
  
  His shop is like a portal into small-town America, where you know the barber, and you know he takes pride in giving you the perfect haircut at a reasonable price. He pays careful attention to the details and doesn't get too bogged down in idle chatter about the football scores and politics. Just enough friendly banter to make you feel like a welcome neighbor in a pleasant community, at least for those few minutes in the barber chair.
